Additional Information: Those who join need to obtain copies of the texts to be studied. Most of these can be borrowed from Public Libraries or purchased cheaply from charity shops. If you intend to join you will need a copy of "On Chesil Beach" for the first meeting.
Description: I am the principal tutor for a course entitled "Reading For Pleasure" which begins in September. The course is organised by an affiliated group of the Sutton College of Learning for Adults. There is a reading list of novels plus a play and some poetry. The discussion of each text usually lasts for two meetings. The first text for study is "On Chesil Beach" by Ian McEwen. Other tutors will be sharing the program with me.

I was for many years a semi professional/professional jazz musician.
With my literature experience I have a special interest in helping people to understand and appreciate poetry. I often arrange programs of poetry for recitals, festivals ,etc
